FOR THE SERIOUS CINEPHILE
1I love movies—watching them, logging them, and talking about them. Letterboxd is great, but I wanted something quieter, simpler, and less focused on volume: an ad-free, not-for-profit space for people who care deeply about film.
2Listening to people like Tarantino talk about movies always makes me want to see everything they’ve seen. But the path through film history gets confusing fast: What should I watch? Why does it matter? Where do I begin? I needed a framework.
3I’m obsessed with design and aesthetics. I wanted a site that feels as thoughtfully constructed as the movies it celebrates: minimal, elegant, and lovely to spend time in. No clutter, no noisy feeds, no ads.
CineBrats is like a mix between Letterboxd and the Criterion Collection. It’s not for everyone — but if it sounds like your kind of thing, check it out.

01 · The Cinephilia Score
Your Cinephilia Score estimates how much of the CineBrats canon you’ve seen — and it’s built to reward importance, not just volume. Two things move it: the films you log and the Collections you complete. A film that belongs to multiple Collections is worth more, and some Collections are weighted more than others.
02 · Shareable Badges
Once you’ve seen every film in a Collection, you get its badge — printed with your name, the Collection, and the films it took. Download it, share it, or just leave it on your profile. There is one for every Collection in the canon, each with its own color and its own list of films, so the ones you have earned sit together as a set.

CineBrats and Letterboxd use different rating scales. Pick whichever sounds most like how you rate on Letterboxd.
A logged film never rated on Letterboxd comes into CineBrats without a rating. You can rate it here any time.
